Some questions
In this blog I try to focus on new developments in diabetes technology (devices and software). I know there are many readers who are very interested in learning more about what's available and what's coming. But I realized that there are many folks with diabetes who'd also like to know more about some of the basics in diabetes 'technology'. Maybe learning about testing for foot problems with monofilaments. Or techniques for using an insulin pump more effectively.
Is this a suitable place to write about more of the basics, or are there enough blogs and communities out there that already cover this stuff? I'd be interested in knowing what you think. And I know I can depend on you to let me know.
Maybe this would be a good time for some of the blog lurkers to leave a first time comment, I'd value your opinion.

I read IPD and am often amazed by the comments and questions. It appears that either education is not done, ignored, and not understood.
I think, now that you have some time on your hands ;-\ that you might tackle the job of letting us know what 'should' be norm etc.
Wife of a type 1, diag 1941, pumper [ currently animus ping] for about 8 years now.
Each diabetic couple must attend nutritional educ class and most insurance will pay for it.
We feel that this is a couples thing, maybe that's why Howard is a live and well at 68 years.
I think its a great idea. No reason to limit reporting about Diabetes technology to new and cutting edge. the more correct and valuable information out there the better.
My vote: Yes! Do it.
I agree Bernard, more of you blogging about anything diabetes related would be of great value to all of us.
Bernard, great blog. I think knowing more about the basics, especially advice on more effective insulin pump use, would be great. I'm a software developer and I naturally am more focused on the cutting edge technology of diabetes care, but it's the boring day to day care that really determines one's health in the long run.
Bernard,
it was your video about the Animas that sold me on that pump. I would love for you to do a video series on how to do items for beginners and sometimes we all need refresher courses.

I agree with Landi. Your videos on the Cozmo encouraged me to get a Cozmo. I think you're a wonderful demonstrator and could do a fine job explaining these other aspects.
I think that, while those of us who salivate at the newest piece of diabetes technology get a lot from any med-tech blogging, a lot of latecomers to the scene (or to diabetes diagnosis in general) are embarrassed that they don't know what's out there and would benefit from having some of the simpler information explained in a clearer way.
I can't for the life of me find your email, so I'm just going to post here.
I found your blog via the logforlife.com website, and noticed you run a Dexcom 7 as well. I wrote a little ruby script that will parse the XML from the DM2 app (use sensor its more detailed than display output) and shove it into logforlife.com.
