Looking forward...to a Yurting weekend

I did it again. I booked a summer weekend in a Yurt for the middle of the year.

You can call me crazy (I think my wife believes I am) but these places are popular and sell out quickly. If you decide to go, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's like 4-star camping, and an easy introduction to the outdoor life.

Mel of Orsa Aetas introduced me to Doane's Falls and I know we'll also pay another visit there while we're in the neighborhood.

Maybe I'll see you there?

Ha that's great Bernard - we had to built Yurts in 4th grade out of toothpicks and cloth. Seems like every few years I'm reminded of it - great fun and looks like a fun trip!

Wonderful! We might be back for another weekend or week in the summer and if so, maybe we'll bump into you!

Wow, I didn't even know you could go yurting in the U.S...I remember reading about central Asian yurts in my undergrad anthropology days...also I have a vague memory of some hippie yurts in Montana or something...but sounds like fun!
Have a great time and best wishes for 2008 to you too! =)

Looking forward to the middle of the year already! Sounds like fun since it's 3 degrees here now. Brrrr! I'm glad you're making fun plans ahead.

Bernard, I thought you were talking about this coming weekend (and wondering if the yurts were equipped with heat......duh.......). Yes I have friends who are into winter camping and it's not fun.

So nice that you have something great to look forward to.

I've never stayed at the yurts at Otter River but I adore the campground there! The yurts always look so cute! The only thing I disliked was that they didn't have a campfire pit - only a grill. I can't camp without a fire!
