Grrr blogger
Why does Blogger sometimes choke when publishing a blog post? I've been trying to get a simple post up on my site now for over an hour.Blogger is updating all of the darn label index files even when I only add a few labels to the post. What a waste of time and bandwidth.
If anyone has a suggestion about how to avoid or fix this problem I'd really welcome it. Maybe it's a sign that the time has come to change to a different piece of blogging software.
Heaven help me if the rest of November is going to be like this!

I've had the same issues, so you're not alone on this. Sure, switching to Typepad or another will address the issue, but remember, it could open up others you hadn't anticipated. With your own domain name, however, switching means not having to inform everyone else about it!

Give wordpress a try. I've had no issues with it for 2 years now. There are a ton of themes and plugins available for the wordpress platform. The anti-spam capabilities are also very impressive (akismet).
I have been on the fence with this issue too. But i feel a bond (i hope that doesnt sound too ..umm...err...you know;)) with blogger it has been my outlet for many things. I have been trying to get my site out to many and dont want to complicate things by redirecting them ...etc.
My problem with blogger is photos and writing around them...everything gets all skewed when i go to publish...blech.
I started on Blogger six years ago. I switched my sites to Greymatter about a year later and then to wordpress in 2005. Wordpress gives you a lot more freedom and is fairly intuitive. I certainly think it the best cms out there for the masses.
I use blogger, too & I seem to have a lot of problems with adding photos. The one of Sophie & me on my sidebar has been skewed for a long time. I stopped even asking blogger about how to fix it. I've just learned to accept it as it is.
I started switching to Wordpress a while back & had other types of problems with it. So for right now, I'm sticking with blogger. At least I'm used to it.
Good luck if you decide to switch to something else. You may have better luck than I did.
