Tomorrow is Cozmo Day
At least it will be for me.My aging Minimed 512 is due for replacement in September. This time, I'm planning to evaluate up to three models before deciding on the right one for me.
And tomorrow, I'm going to be fitted with a Cozmo 1800 insulin pump for a trial run. I'll be wearing it for a week or two with saline and testing it out.

What I've already heard about the Cozmo from friends is that it's a little bulky but very easy to customize.
I've also asked for the software that goes with it. And I'll blog about my impressions with both.
Because I don't see the software as an add-on for the insulin pump. It's an integral part. After all, what use would your iPod shuffle be if you didn't have iTunes? Probably you could use it as a door stop. Otherwise it wouldn't be worth all that much.
I'll post tomorrow about how the 'training' and first priming goes for me.

Can't wait to hear how you like it!
Bernard- my lengthy comparison of the Cozmo and Paradigm can be found here:

Christine-Megan's link got cut off, so here's a pointer to her excellent comparison between the Cozmo and the Minimed 522 pumps.
Thanks Christine-Megan.
I poked around the Cozmo software at the CWD conference. They had a 24 hour log and graph that I liked and an ability to drill down to data points that was cool but kind pointless. To me it is about trends over time so one data point is pointless if you get my point.
The Abbott people kinda pushed me over to the Cozmo guys (maybe I was too much of a pain in their butts) When (as in when is it ever gonna get released) the Navigator comes along and talks with the Coz that will be cool.
Hi I just stumbled onto you page and wanted to ad that I have been Type 1 for 48 years, in great shape (in other words all my original toes and no dialysis).
I started on the Cozmo about 2 years ago and upgraded recently to the 1800 with software.
I don't have anything to compare it to as that was my first pump. But I find it works phenomenally. I wouldn't give it up.
The size is a little large than others I looked at but I like the features much better.
Good luck to you!
Hope the Cozmo trial is going well. I've never used anything else so can't compare.
If you're interested in software be sure to drop by Abbott's site and download CoPilot, if you haven't already. You use the CoZmanager software to customize the pump, but it offers no graphs or anything beyond that. CoPilot is able to import all the information from CoZmanager once you've downloaded it from the pump and make it into graphs and all sorts of other useful information. It can also download from any of the FreeStyle meters if you have the data cables for them.
its a great pump, I have one, but I don't know if its just me, but In like 3 months they have replaced it a lot.... I've had to go back to shots a lot.
