Flex is going Open Source
This just out today, for anyone interested in UI development and Rich Internet Applications: Adobe has announced that Flex is going Open Source.I've been doing prototype development with Flex for about six weeks now, and it's really an awesome tool for putting together polished, rich demos and applications. I'm still climbing the learning curve, and really enjoying it.
I think this is going to be an interesting challenge to Microsoft's recent announcement about Silverlight. After all, I can't see them open sourcing Visual Studio or any part of their stack like this.
Way to go Adobe!
