Heads-up: Cycle ride to support Dr. Faustman research

I just heard today that the cycle ride to directly support Dr. Faustman's research at Mass. General is happening this year in September.

The full details are on their website. The ride itself will be in New Canaan, Connecticut on Saturday September 9th, so you've lots of time to get ready to participate.

How about d-bloggers? Wouldn't this make the ideal place to get together? We could all take part in (say) the 20-mile ride, enjoy ourselves, and raise funds for this research?

Imagine being able to say to someone in 2015 "You remember Dr. Faustman and how she figured out a cure for diabetes? Well I actually raised money to support that research, so in a way I helped develop that cure."?

Anyone prepared to ride with me?

At January 12, 2007 7:46 PM , Shannon said...: How funny. I did the ride the year before last (the first year they made it public). I went into out of shape and overweight and paid dearly, LOL. I made it through 32 miles the first day and 2 miles the next (sister blew out her knee).

So, this year I'd like to do it since I'll be in decent shape. I think it's cool if we could do it as a team!

By the way, New Canaan isn't too far from NYC and you might get a cheap flight to there.

It would be so much fun if we had a group of us, but if not, I'm willing to ride along with you if it's just the two of us...that will definitely be fun too!

But we have many months for people to sign on, so it may grow more.
