Free ACCU-CHEK offer for BD meter users

Yet another company is offering a replacement meter for users of BD meters. Since BD announced they will be discontinuing their meters, Lifescan has already offered replacements and now Roche Diagnostics is making the same offer.

According to the press release:

BD Logic blood glucose meter users can receive a free ACCU-CHEK blood glucose system (meter and strips) by calling 1-888-355-4242.

If you're a user of the excellent BD lancets, you'll be glad to know that BD will still be making those.

It figures they would also. It's interesting to me the order in which these appeared.

Lifescan first, then Roche and finally Abbott. I really like the Abbott FreeStyle meters, I wish there marketing folks were a bit more on the ball.

Abbott made the announcement the same day BD made theirs. Lifescan did it the next day.

I was born in Ireland and now live in the US. I have had Type 1 diabetes for over 35 years. I struggle with my blood sugar, the same as most people with diabetes. I currently wear a Minimed 512 insulin pump and will shortly switch to a Cozmo 1800 pump. I also wear a Dexcom CGM to track my blood glucose levels. I also take Symlin to help control my post-meal blood sugars. I'm blessed by God, and every day brings the possibility of a cure.
